CC 2025 Northern Conference – Women’s team presentations

Women’s Northern Conference quarter-finals start on Sunday 25th August when Classic and Thorengruppen meet at Ideapark Blak Boks. Later on Sunday, Pixbo take on TPS at the Wallenstam Arena in Gothenburg. The Second leg matches will be played a week later, on Saturday August 31st.

Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2025?

The CC 2025 tournament is a key milestone in our overall journey for the coming season, and we intend to fully embrace the opportunity it offers. Yet, our aim is not merely to create lasting memories; we are here to compete fiercely. Simply put: we are here and we want to win. Period.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#29 Laura Katajisto – Write her name in your notebook: Laura is a reliable, skilled defender who, despite their young age, knows how to pace the game and make many “game-advancing decisions”.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#26 Elli Kylmäluoma – The Leader. The Captain. Elli leads by example and inspires her teammates. She is a determined and ambitious leader who strives by all possible means to help the team succeed.

Most skillful player?

#8 Alma Laitila – Alma is one of the few who can manipulate a physical element like time. A highly reliable – technically nearly flawless player – who remains unfazed under any kind of pressure.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#71 Julia Saarinen – Not only is Julia a top-level athlete, she is also a very tough competitor who respects opponents and is extremely considerate of the people around her.

THORENGRUPPEN IBK

Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2025?

Team Thorengruppen can most easily be described as a team that wishes to play a creative and offensive floorball. A good mixture of well-established players, hungry talent and most notably, a lot of players who can’t wait to play a crucial role in big games. During CC you can expect us to play a spectator friendly, entertaining and offensive floorball, but most significantly a team that thrives on winning new titles and is hungry to lift the CC-trophy yet again!

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#37 Linn Larsson – A rookie to watch. A young and unafraid player with great offensive skills a long with a good passing game.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#26 Emelie Wibron – Is the definition of a leader, both on and off the field. She shows the way on the field and puts a lot of time and effort on bringing the entire squad together.

Most skillful player?

#28 Veera Kauppi – A complete entertainer and a person who alone can play a decisive role in any game.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#11 Maja Viström – She is a great team player and not least a player that shows great sportsmanship regardless of situation, game or opponent.

PIXBO IBK

Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2025?

Pixbo IBK is a real team machine that can alternate very disciplined play with quick transitions and creative solutions. The team consists of an interesting mix of young talented players and older experienced players. Pixbo always plays entertaining floorball. In the Champions Cup, we hope to be able to offer very entertaining games and we will show that we are one of the world’s best floorball teams.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#18 Mira Markström – Born in 2005, Mira is very skilled and a real match winner. Her playing technique and smartness are magical.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#3 Moa Andersson – Our captain who is thoughtful and has the ability to spread joy and energy, she is a given leader. Add to that her professional approach to all things Floorball.

Most skillful player?

The team consists of many very skilled players, it is difficult to single out an individual.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#94 Lara Heini – Truly an ambassador for the sport and treats teammates, opposing players, referees and officials with great respect.

TPS

Describe your team, and what we should expect from your team during Champions Cup 2025?

TPS has won the Finnish championship 3 times in a row now. This coming season we are starting with a younger team and hopefully those younger players can step up and take a bigger role and responsibility
