Swedish club teams were successful on the weekend when the Champions Cup 2024 semi-finals began on the women’s side. Second round will be played on the upcoming weekend. 

Zug United hosted Thorengruppen IBK in the first semi-final match of 2024 Champions Cup. The reigning Swedish Champions (and 2023 Champions Cup winners) did not give a chance for the Swiss team to win this game. Captain Emelie Wibron, who is preparing for her 7th Women’s World Championships scored four goals and assisted two and Veera Kauppi who is preparing for her 5th Women’s WFC was also on fire with a hat-trick and one assist. Final score 16-3 for Thorengruppen IBK.

The teams will meet again on Friday 10th November at Thoren Arena, Sweden. Match starts at 19:00 local time.

Pixbo IBK met Kloten-Dietlikon Jets at Wallenstam Arena on Sunday afternoon. Home team had a strong start to the game when first Ellen Lundin and then Emma Heander scored one each. Pixbo added their lead in the second period with goals from Emma Stenberg, Rikke Hansen and Moa Andersson. It was not until the middle of second period when Noomi Überschlag scored the first goal for Kloten-Dietlikon. One more goal for each team and Pixbo secured their first win in the semi-finals, final score 6-2 for the hosts.

The teams will meet again on Saturday 11th November at Sporthalle Stighag, Switzerland. Match starts at 18:00 local time.
